Adapting
Dear Ones,
First, some quick logistical updates. For financial reasons (we are not currently raising enough money to sustain ourselves and the project) Sean has flown back to NY this week, to work (for pay) for a while. Over the course of the next few weeks, Sophie is going to drive from Oregon (where she currently is) back to Vermont, where she too will seek some paid work.

- Daniel Quinn
Waning and Waxing
While our funds have been waning, our passion and love for this work has been waxing. Despite funding setbacks we hope to continue to work on this project, perhaps a bit more locally for a while so we can both hold part/full-time paid jobs. We have hours of video footage, thousands of photographs, and plenty of notes from our last two months of documentation that we plan on producing in the coming weeks and months. We hope to create a series of additional profiles, much like the first one we just posted. Also in the next couple of months, we plan to continue to visit inspiring communities, individuals, farms and organizations in the Northeast.
Generosity
Recent donations to the project have helped us make it this far, and will continue to support us into the next few weeks. We feel humbled and profoundly thankful to all of the people who have helped us over the past couple of months, whether they have been sharing their homes with us as we pass through, sharing advice and feedback, or gifting money, gear, or encouragement - it is all so valuable.
Feedback?
As we are now digging into the production part of the work, we are faced by the stimulating (and challenging) task of clearly and effectively sharing, in beautiful and engaging formats, some of what we’ve seen and learned. With this in mind, we would love your feedback, constructive criticism, and affirmations of what you liked about our first profile. We deeply appreciate your contributions to our creative process. You can email us, or leave your feedback as a comment on the profile page itself.
With Love and Excitement,
Sophie and Sean

Greening The Desert: (UL) This is a photo Sean took at Quail Springs Learning Oasis and Permaculture Farm in the high desert of Southern, CA. This human made pond is part of their brilliant gravity fed water system that is allowing them to build soil, develop an amazing food forest, and bountiful gardens. More on Quail Springs in the coming weeks.
